Dr. Georgios Goumas, a graduate of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), is a leading researcher in high-performance computing and architectures, resource-demanding applications, automatic parallelizing compilers and parallel programming models.
He has not only published several research papers in journals and international conferences, but is also the recipient of the IEEE IPDPS 2001 best paper award – for his paper ”Minimising Completion Time for Loop Tiling with Computation and Communication Overlapping” – and of the Dimitrios N. Chorafas Foundation award (2003) for his work in the field of “Parallel and Distributed Computing on Large Scale Systems”.
Dr Goumas has worked for several European and National R&D programmes focused on HPC, Networking and Storage for IT systems, and is a member of both the IEEE and of the Technical Chamber of Greece.
