The Computing Systems Laboratory (CSLab, is one of the largest research laboratories in the Computer Science Department of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National Technical University of Athens. The lab is member of the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS) of NTUA. ICCS is very active in European co-funded research activities and has been the project coordinator of many EU projects in various programs. It employs experienced staff in administration, training, consulting and development covering aspects of large scale high performance computing, networking and storage, which are most willing to offer their specialized services to the academic research community and to external customers seeking computational power. University of Manchester (UNIMAN) is one of the top research-led universities and can lay claim to 25 Nobel Prize winners amongst its current and former staff and students, including 4 current Nobel laureates. The Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) was established in 2005 and is the Spanish National Supercomputing Facility and a hosting member of the PRACE distributed supercomputing infrastructure. The Centre houses MareNostrum one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe. The mission of BSC is to research, develop and manage information technologies in order to facilitate scientific progress. BSC was a pioneer in combining HPC service provision, and R&D into both computer and computational science (life, earth and engineering sciences) under one roof. It is a partner in seven of the nine Centres of Excellence for computing applications (HPC) funded in H2020-EINFRA-2015-1, has collaborated with industry since its creation (i.e ARM, Bull , Airbus as well as numerous SMEs) and participates in various bilateral joint research centres with companies such as IBM, Microsoft, Intel, NVIDIA and Spanish oil company Repsol. The centre has been extremely active in the EC Framework Programmes and has participated in over one hundred projects funded by it. Education and Training is a priority for the centre and many of BSCs researchers are also university lecturers. The Computer Sciences Department focuses on building upon currently available hardware and software technologies and adapting these technologies to make efficient use of supercomputing infrastructures. The department proposes novel architectures for processors and memory hierarchy and develops programming models and innovative implementation approaches for these models as well as tools for performance analysis and prediction.

The Foundation for Research and Technology - Hellas (FORTH) is a major national research centre in Greece. The Italian National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN) is the Italian research agency dedicated to the study of the fundamental constituents of matter and the laws that govern them. The European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) is an international organisation supported by 34 Member and Cooperating States.
